MSAccess97 automation in VB.Net 2003 VERY SLOW?

I need to enable users to run MSAccess 97 macros from my VB.Net
application. Here is a code snippet:

Dim app As New Access.Application
app.OpenCurrentDatabase(MyMacroPath)
app.RunCommand(Access.AcCommand.acCmdAppMaximize)
app.DoCmd.RunMacro(MyMacroName)
app.Quit(Access.AcQuitOption.acQuitSaveNone)
app = Nothing
GC.Collect()

When I run this on my machine (500 MG RAM) speed is not an issue. On
lower spec machines (250 MG RAM), it takes up to 2 minutes to execute
the first line of code (Dim app as new Access.Application). The rest
of the program uses memory extensively and does not give any
performance problems on lower spec machines. Is their anything I can
do to speed up the Access functionality?
