IDE crash

I have the following problem with VS.NET 2003 Pro:

When I attempt to create a Smart Device Project in VB.NET the dev env
crashes after creating the project file. In C# it will sometimes load, but
says 'The designer could not be shown for this file because none of the
classes within it can be designed'.

I have isolated the problem to:

Originally VS.NET was installed to a removable drive(F:).
Had other issues.
Uninstalled VS.NET from Removable drive.
Disconnect Removable drive(F:)
Reinstall VS.NET to the main drive (C:)
Had Smart Device Project issue as stated above
Tried the Manually Removing VS.NET 2003 article from MS
Reinstalled.
Still Same Issue.

If I reconnect the removeable drive that original had the install, I can
create the Smart Device Project. Searched registry for any reference to old
F: path, none found. Found that if I leave the drive connected, create a
project in C#, go to add a reference, the path to all .dll's is the old F:
path. Apparently, when uninstalling, the dll registration was not removed.

Also, if I go to Administrative Tools->Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Wizards
and click 'Fix an application' I see devenv.exe in the list twice. Once in
the new C:\.... path and once in the old F:\..... path.

Any ideas how to fix ?
