AppSettingsReader question

We've created our own configuration handler. Some of our existing apps
currently have...
AppSettingsReader MyConfigRdr = new AppSettingsReader();
string strConfigValue = ((string)(MyConfigRdr.GetValue(WhatValue,
typeof(string))));

My issue is this... I'd like to redirect the AppSettingsReader to use our
own custom section by using <configSections>. Is that possible, or is the
AppSettingsReader bound tightly to the <appSettings> node? I'm trying to do
this without having to recompile the code.
Thanks! --Marty
