IMAPI not recorgnizing recordable CD-RW

I desperately need help to get the IMAPI (Image Mastering API
interface comes with Windows XP to burn CD) to work on my PC. I
downloaded the IMAPI sample on Microsoft website:

With SDK installed, I compiled and run the code on my PC running XP
Pro with service pack 1. I do have a CD-RW on the PC with "recording"
tab configured to enable CD recording. However, when I ran the
sample, it only displays the recordable drive letter and burn path,
and nothing else. When I step through the code, the call to
CDiscRecorderIterator.Next() returns failure at the very first pass.
It seems like IMAPI cannot detect any recordable drive on the system
to build the drive list. The strange thing is that with the exact
same code, when I run it on another PC, it displays the recordable
drive information just fine. What am I missing?

Anyone with IMAPI experience, please advise. Your help is greatly
appreciated!
