Does ASP 1.1 support Web Parts or do I need SharePoint?

Can Web Parts be easily deployed in ASP 1.1 forms or would it be better to
use SharePoint (or wait for ASP 2.0)?

There is no support in ASP.Net for the web parts component model. Today web parts are for using in WSS. With Whidbey and ASPv2 then there is good support.

I guess its possible to host web parts on your own page and maybe someone has written something like that, but I haven't looked.
