heresy of the month/feature request

guy
Could we have an outlining style option to hide comments?
When I look at historic code the comments are often plain wrong (cos they are not maintained) and lead to incorect understanding of the code.
Especially an option to hide XML comments! when i am looking at code with the ide why do i need 3 lines to tell me what the parameter list is if it is immediately below? it just takes up space - and they can be wrong to as the comments dont get maintained when the parameter list is changed.
rant rant...

Why do you put the comments in if you don't plan to maintain them and you
don't want to see them?

guy
John, you miss the point, I try and maintain the comments i make, however i cant enforce other peoples maintenance of comments for changes they made 3 monthes ago.
I juts spent ages tracking down a problem to do with tax rates:- where the meaning of a function had been changed from
'Get a persons tax due for this year' to
'Get a persons tax due to the end of this year'
different purpose but the comment didnt change...
(and no - i didnt write it)
