C#/.NET COM object calling problem

I have created a com object using C# and .NET, following the instructions listed in Com Interop Part 2 from MSDN. I then created a simple VC++/MFC app to call the COM object. I initially connect to the COM object via a button on a dialog and save the pointer to the COM object. I have another button in that same dialog that will make another call into the same com object using the original pointer I stored during the setup. When I do this, the com object appears to get confused and calls a completely different function within the com object. Any ideas?

(See code below)

Thanks,

Phil

CMyDialog::OnButton1()
{
hr = ::CLSIDFromProgID(L"SerialDevice.GyroDevice", &clsid);
if(SUCCEEDED(hr))
{
HRESULT hr = CoCreateInstance(clsid,NULL, CLSCTX_ALL,IID__GyroDevice,
reinterpret_cast<void**>(&devint));
if (SUCCEEDED(hr))
{
if (devint->Start())
AfxMessageBox("Success");
else
{
AfxMessageBox("Failure");
}
}
}

CMyDialog::ONButton2()
{
devint->Stop(); // Calls StartGC instead of Stop
}
