I have been having some performance problems with visual studio. They seem
to
fall into 2 categories:
1. If I make a change in the VS editor, I am often forced to wait (sometimes
minutes)
for the change to appear in the editor. I believe this is because of
the "auto compiling"
(or whatever it is called) that is happening. It's pretty slow
though -- and I don't remember
it always being this way.
2. A build takes minutes, and not just a few. Probably over 5 each time I
try to run
the debugger. I've looked in the performance monitor and I can see
devenv.exe
chewing up loads of memory -- over 200M at times. I suspect that is the
problem!
But have no idea what to do about it.
I am running Win2K Pro, with VS 2002. My framework is still 1.0, but it's
hard to believe
that is the problem...
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
