Interface to C++ process

I have a software design question:
In our application two moduls have to interact:
One C++ modul that interacts with Outlook (Add-In) over MAPI an that
is started with Outlook.
Second, there is a .net Application with some UserInterface, that does
some Busines Logic.
I need to send short messages like "exists a Outlook folder called
...." or if a operation was successfull or not, no objects pointers or
others. Also xml as a Interface would be possible (but no
webservices).
How can i interact between those two Processes?
A COM-Reference is not possible, because the Add-In can not be started
in Outlook and referenced from my .net Module at the same time.
I am happy about every response.
Thanks in advance!
André
