httpHandlers

i am declaring a custom handler for a class that is deriving from a Page class, in the system.web section of web.config file.
Then the Page_Load method is executing twice. Why is it so?

Next i am declaring a handler for a class that is implementing IHttpHandler(not derived from Page class) in the system.web section of web.config file.
Then the Page_Load method is executing once. Why is it so?

Can u please give me the detail explanation why is it happening so?
