iostream calls in an unmanaged dll

Hello
I have an unmanaged dll that uses iostream to open a file for input. Each time the code is accessed it returns NUL

ofstream r_os( (char*)szEventLogPath, ios::app | ios::ate )
if ( r_os == NULL
return

Using this dll and attaching it to a vc6 windows app and a vc7 windows forms the file is created correctly

Does vc7 web forms (asp.net) not allow iostream functionality in an unmanaged dll

Thank you
Bill
