MIDI programming sites / books for .NET ?

I came across a book titled "Maximum MIDI, Music Applications in C++"
by Paul Messick, that is supposed to be pretty good for writing MIDI
applications.

Is there a comparable book or any good Web sites that cover this for
..NET (VB or C#) ?

Thanks in advance for any information...
