CANNOT INSTALL VS 6.0 AFTER INSTALLING VS.NET

I have VS.NET installed in mymachine, now I need to work on VS 6.0.
But while installing the VS 6.0, I ma getiing the message box saying "Visual Studio has detected you have one or more follwoing Visual Studio 97 applications installed......... "

But I don't have any application regrading VS 6.0, I even checked up with the process, none of the services of Visual Studio 97 is runnig.
Is it the problem becas of my machine already have the advanced version VS.net before installing the lower version VS 6.0, Is it the issue of compactability.

Suggestions Pls

I did the reverse (VS.NET 2003 first) with no problems.
