Deploy .NET w/o Framework

I would like to know if there is free software to link assemblies together,
deploy without whole Framework installation. so I could work my application
in any computer without Framework.

Thanks

Hi Amalia,

VB.net, C#, J# and C++ managed code work with intermidiate code.

See for that the Net framework as a runtimer.
Than I think you understand why it is impossible.

VB6 and before where using a runtimmer the same as a lot of program
languages on a PC do.

Sorry, no.
Just as Java cannot run on a computer without a Java virtual machine,
managed .NET code cannot run without the Framework. I realize the analogy
between the JVM and the .NET Framework is shaky at best, but I'm often
surprised by people who believe that programming languages that do not
produce stand alone executables are some new, evil, plot hatched in Redmond
:-)

Other people have said it can't be done, but the fact is that this can
indeed be done. A couple of months ago, Jonathan Clark of Just in Time
Information Technologies (www.jitit.com) made a presentation at EBIG (East
Bay IT Group in the San Francisco Bay Area) on how one could distribute a
..NET application without having the .NET Framework already installed on the
machine. It involves distributing the necessary framework dlls as part of
the installer, and was not a simple process. I think that JiTIT's Thinstall
product may simplify the process
(http://thinstall.com/help/index.html?_netsupport.htm). It's not free,
though.

I have a PowerPoint file from that presentation, but I don't believe I have
the right to redistribute it. If you contact Jonathan Clark through the
www.jitit.com Web site and ask, perhaps he will send you the slides.

Say, does this group have an FAQ? Cause it sure needs one. ;-)

Yeah, especially if it includes the right answer. Because if you look at my
other reply, you'll see that "it can't be done" is the wrong answer!
