Un-registering assemblys for COM interop

P: n/a
Hi all, I have the following issue: I have a .net assembly that I need registered in the GAC as well as registered for COM interop (using gacutil). When I deploy it to clients I register it with regasm. However when updating this component I cannot seem to unregister the old one (regasm /unregister). No errors, but it does not unregister the app. I end up having to hunt down the reg entries and blow them away. So my question is....
1. What is the best way to deploy a .net dll for COM interop?
2. How do you handle updates, unregistration etc?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for yor time...
