Referencr VB6 App to get control value

BM
I have a data collection program written in VB6. This app is very specific
to a specific device and cannot be heavely modified (I do have the source
code). I need to have this app running and have a second .NET vb app
running that can respond to a displayed vale from the vb6 app.

VB6.textbox1 displayes a changing value in real time

dotNET app needs to be able to read this value.

I can send commands to the VB6 app using sendkeys with no problem. The VB6
app will respond to the keystrokes sent. I have found no reference as to
how to get a value from a control on a form in a different running app.

Is there a way to reference the value in the control ie
dotNETapp.ReadValue = VB6app.textbox1.text ?

Please reply to this NG and reply to my e-mail (remove the SPA from the
begining of the e-mail address)

Thank you for any help or sugestions that you might have.
