Installing Visual Basic.Net Version 2002

My computer currently has Visual C++ .NET Standard 2003 installed in
Windows XP Home Edition, running inside of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2003.

I recently acquired Visual Basic.net Standard Version 2002.

When I tried to install this, it first required me to run the Microsoft
Windows Component Update, and then to install the program. I selected
certain features (not the documentation to save disk space), and
proceeded to install. At the 99% point, I received the following message
box:

Internal Error 2753,
FL_devenv._exe___X86.3643236F_FC70_11D3_A536_00902 78A1B88

After clicking OK, I was informed that the installation had failed.

At this point, I used Roxio Go Back to restore my system to the point
just prior to the installation.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this, and what I can do to
fix it?

Could it be related to the fact that I am installing a 2002 application
inside of Visual Studio.Net 2003? When prompted for the installation
location, I pointed to the folder that contains all of my Visual studio
applications, i.e., f:\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. Should I have
installed to a separate location?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need
further information regarding this problem.

Thanks in advance.
