I wrote an asp.net app in C# that allows a user to upload a file to a
different server than the web server that the app is on. The
application works perfectly when I run it from the localhost but when I
try to go to the page and use the application from another computer I
get a permission error when it tries to save the file. I don't
understand why it will write the file when running the page on the web
server itself but not from another machine. The path where the file is
being saved is exactly the same no matter where I run the app from. In
my web.config file I have impersonate=true and have the site configured
to use NT challenge response instead of anonymous user access. The
permissions on the file share and directory that is being written to
have "everyone" as full access. I can't specifically give the local
asp_net account access to another server's directory structure because
it's not a domain account.
