Reading Remote Event Log Entries

Hi,

I am having trouble getting back the entry messages from a
remote event log using the System.Diagnostics.EventLog
class. When the code is run against the local event log,
the event message is formatted correctly as in the normal
MMC event viewer, but when called against a remote server,
some of the messages return messages as :-

The message '-1073724769' for application 'MSSQLSERVER'
could not be formatted using libary(ies): ''. The log
entry contains the following replacement
strings:'17126', 'SQL Server is ready for client
connections'

Rather than

17126 :
SQL Server is ready for client connections

this is a slightly bad example as all the information is
available as replacement strings, but this isn't always
the case for other applications (non MS SQL)

It appears to only do this for services not installed on
the client running the event log checker.

All event messages show fine if connecting to a remote
event log through the MMC event viewer from the same
client.

Do I need to register some message dll's or the like on
the client??
