What is a "Design Surface"?

Can someone tell me where to find a definition of "Design Surface"

It's the main window in VS.NET where you can see a UI that you are building
(i.e. the web form or windows form or user control) as opposed to the Code
Window where you are not visually designing anything, you are working only
with code.
