"ASP.NET Machine A..."

When I install the .NET Framework from Microsoft Updates, it creates
an account on WinXP called "ASP.NET Machine A..."

It's a "Limited" account, and is password protected.

Is this account any use, can it just be deleted? Hints, clues? Thanks.

Hi,

Unless you need it, delete it. It is not necessary for normal operation.
