.net Framework 1.1 screws up access to internet/email through router

I recently couldn't access email or the internet when I went through my
wired or wireless Linksys routers. After beating my head against a brick
wall several times, I decided to remove .net Framework 1.1 that was
installed with Print Shop 20. Voila, everything is fine now. Are there some
setting in .net Framework I need to adjust to allow it to coexist with my
router?
