Crystal reports questions

hello,

i previously posted the questions below on several crystal reports newsgroups, including the one for

the company that makes crystal reports, but never got an answer, so i'm hoping that someone on this
board knows the answers to them. the questions are for the version of crystal that ships with visual

studio.net 2003. if it helps, the reports that i create are in a visual basic.net project. it was
recommended that i post the questions here.
1) i can't find the "guidelines" feature. has it been removed from the .net version of crystal?

2) do the increase and decrease font size buttons/options not exist in crystal.net? if so, where are

they?

3) in previous versions of crystal, i could delete a field in the detail section of a report and the

field title in the page header would be deleted automatically at the same time. has this
functionality been removed? if not, what option do i need to select so that both the detail field
and field title will be deleted at the same time.

4) is there a way to export the report formulas, like totals to excel?

5) is there a way to export a report definition without writing code?

6) where is the "save data with report" option?

7) what is the "save preview picture" option on the summary tab of the document properties dialog
box suppose to do? how/where can you preview the report, if this option is selected?

8) special fields - is there a way to sort them so that they are in alphabetical order? they were in

alphabetical order in crystal version 8.5, but not in crystal.net

9) what is the "refresh" button suppose to do on the crystal report viewer? when i click on it
nothing happens, or at least i can't see anything happening.

10) is there a way to force data to be refreshed each time a report is run, without writing code?

11) when you do file --> save as to create a copy of a report, why does the original report
disappear from the solution explorer window? is there a way to keep this from happening.

12) report alerts - i've been looking for this feature and can't find it. i know that i've used it
in previous versions, but can't find it in the version of crystal that comes with visual studio.net.

can someone let me know if this is yet another feature that was taken out of the .net version of
crystal.

thank you
indera
