Well, you could uninstall the last version you installed.

Or you could increment the version number so the installer sees it as an update.

I have just installed BLT: I effectively had some problems - the same you had. I found this: Python GUI Setup Here is the procedure I used to get "Fourier" working on Windows and Linux. I wanted to use BLT for xy-plotting, partly because we used it with tcl in the sss project, and partly because I couldn't understand how to position the plots in wxPython (the main alternative).

Hi! How can I achieve the situation like that: there is some application (.NET) and it is using some class library (strongly named, installed by .msi, registered within GAC). I'd like to have a crash on my client application when the class library version differs from the one compiled with my application earlier e.g. my_app_version1 and my_class_lib_version1 works fine but my_app_version1 and my_class_lib_version2 cause crash.

I'm working on a VB 05 project. I need to copy the project from my home's development machine to the PC at work so I can work in both places. I was able to do this with VS2003 but always got error "... appname.vbproj application not installed!" with 05' projects. I have VS05 installed in both machines. Thanks Bill

Not sure if this is the right group, but anyway. I've built a setup project in vs2005 to install my program. All works fine, until I issue an update. If anyone tries to install it, they get the error "Another version of this product is already installed". They then need to go to Add/Remove programs to uninstall before trying again. I did find a workaround of changing the product code in my setup project, and then they can install it, but...

Hi Ng! My application (version 1 a1) communicates with a service (version 1 s1). Now I would like to update the service and create a service version 2 (s2). The new function calls within s2 are implemented in a new interface, which derive from the old one to ensure that an old version of my application (a1) still works with s2. If i run my new version of the application a2 with s1 I get a InvalidCastException (Return argument has an...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
