What is typed/untyped datasets ?

Hi,
I have understood Data Sets but what is meant by typed/untyped/
strongly typed datasets. Can any one explain me or suggest any site/
article, to get these concepts (and their comparisions) cleared?
Thanks,
Rachana

Could anyone please provide a code snippet demonstrating how to use the Repeater control in conjunction with the PagedDataSource class and a Strongly Typed Dataset ? I get an error informing me that my datasource does not implement ICollection. All examples of using the PagedDataSource class with the Repeater seem use untyped datasets.

I have been developing applications with Java for quite a while but I am new to .NET development. I am trying to learn the ".NET way" of creating Strongly Typed Objects from a database. The Enterprise Library seems pretty close to what I am used to in Java but I am not sure how to create strongly-typed DataSets. I see that I can use the LoadDataSet method from a Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.Database but I am not clear on how...

This question is regarding convention. My datalayer has 20 classes in it. Each class has a handful of methods that return datasets. I am looking to make some of these typed datasets (as opposed to untyped datasets). Since the tables returned by various methods within a class are not directly related, should different dataset objects be created to handle

in March, i posted a essay “What is Expressiveness in a Computer Language”, archived at: http://xahlee.org/perl-python/what_is_expresiveness.html I was informed then that there is a academic paper written on this subject. On the Expressive Power of Programming Languages, by Matthias Felleisen, 1990. http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/cobbe/pl-seminar-jr/notes/2003-sep-26/expressive-slides.pdf

Why the data access layer should use untyped datasets? and Why the business layer should use strongly typed datasets? Is this applicable to the 3 layered architecture in general or is it related with the implementation in .net? Can someone recommend me a good book to learn in depth the 3 layered architecture? Thanks.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
