As a member, you should know that we expect your code to be posted in [code] tags (See How to Ask a Question).

This makes it easier for our Experts to read and understand it. Failing to do so creates extra work for the moderators, thus wasting resources, otherwise available to answer the members' questions.

Please use the tags in future.

Yes I see that, but you did not put your code inside of [code] tags. I added the [code] tags in after the fact.

Hi, I'm having problems with Java applets. I just generated a JApplet (also tried normal Applet) in Netbeans which is delivered with the newest JDK. When I compile it in Netbeans it seems to work fine. But when I try outside Netbeans by opening the html page which is automatically generated I only see a gray area where the applet was supposed to be... I tried some other example applets on the internet. Some work but also many won't show...

Hello All, We have a java application including applets, servlets and ejbs. Users can get reports and print them directly from applets. Our print methods uses PrinterJob and Graphics2d, imports java.awt.print.*, and implements Printable. Each report has different amount of data on a page, so we are using Graphichs.setFont() with different font sizes , ie. some reports prints in font size of 5. The only plugin version I can use without...

I am considering a situation where I have (n) number of form windows, each with an instance of the Microsoft Web Browser Control (IE) on each form. In each web browser control is an HTML page that has a Java applet. This is the only way I am aware of to get a Java applet to paint within a .NET Forms window. Given that scenario I am trying to determine whethere there would be one Java VM loaded for all of the (n) applets inside the (n) MS...

I'm working on a project which will test users abilities to guess a series of randomly generated pitches. The users need to be able to access the program via the web and the results will either be saved on the server hosting the webpage or will be emailed those evaluating the test. Is there a C# equivalent to Java applets to allow my program to run on the web? Do I need to use an Active Server Page? Or is ASP just a way to create dynamic...

I've been reading some Sun Java articles where they say Applets cannot import dlls and cannot write to disk. (This does NOT apply to applications, only to Applets.) Supposedly, this is NOT something you can cotrol with a security manager or in any other way. The dll exclussion is due to the fact that the virtual machine cannot control what a dll is doing, perhaps writting malicious stuff to disk among other things. Is it true that...

>From the book I am using as a reference I understood that applet tag was deprecated, but googling for information, and testing myself, it seems IE does not work properly with this new object tag. So my effort reading about the object tag was for nothing? Is there no way I can make this work for IE and Mozilla? <HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD> <BODY BGCOLOR="FFFFFF">

I have managed to communicate between forms and Java applets. A button press sends the content of the text area to an applet, a second button gets some text from the applet and puts it into the textarea. However, at the start, there is a delay of several seconds, before any of the buttons react to a click. After the first reaction has happened, all further clicks work immediately. Is this meant to be so, or can I speed up the first...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
