Dynamic check for com objects

2 New Member
hi guys
I have a problem in using COM objects in vb.net.
on my system i have imported on COM object for my project and build an exe on vb.net project and now the problem arises when i was using it on other sytem where this COM object is not present
Now how can i make a dynamic check for the reference object on that system and pop a message that it doesn't consist of that reference and they can't proceed further

The recent thread on threads caused me to reread the formal definition of SCOOP, and I noticed something I hadn't really impressed me the first time around: it's using staticly checkable rules to help ensure correct behavior in a concurrent environment. That's impressive. That's *really* impressive. I know of no other language that does that - though they probably exist. I'd be interested in references to them. Normally, I think of...

Hi All, I have a little piece of code that is giving me the shits. I have an arraylist colelction which is putting dynmaic objects into it, and the objects are being accessed dynamically too. My problem is that .Net cant intellisense dynmaic code, so how can i tell the collection that only a certain type of object will be in there so that it can intellisense properly? Also i want to be able to limit the object types that are allowed...

Hello all! Perhaps the most important feature of dynamic polymorphism is ability to handle heterogeneous collections of objects. ("C++ Templates: The Complete Guide" by David Vandevoorde and Nicolai M. Josuttis. Chapter 14.) How to implement analogue of this technique via static polymorphism? Perhaps there is special design pattern for this purpose...

I need (okay, I want) to make a dynamic array of my class 'Directory', within my class Directory (Can you already smell disaster?) Each Directory can have subdirectories so I thought to put these in an array. The application compiles but aborts without giving me any useful information. What I suspect is happening is infinite recursion. Each Directory object creates an array of Subdirectories each of which has an array of...

Do dynamic arrays declared using ReDim have to be freed? I assume that if it's an array of dynamically created objects (e.g. Scripting.Dictionary), each one of those objects will have to be set to Nothing in a for loop, but what about the array itself? Or what if the array is dynamic but it just consists of integers or strings, not dynamically allocated objects? Does it have to be set to Nothing? Thanks, Dave

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
