Why don't you just create the datatable from a datareader rather than using a dataset? More efficient. This article may help:

A DataReader can also fill a DataTable object.

OR

You can use like myDataSet.Table s[0] to get the DataTable

I have a dataset with an unknown amount of fields. The user can choose a nuber of numeric fields in that datatable. I am making a chart out of those fields. I need to know the minimum and maximun values of the highest value of the selected fields. Is there a way to query that dataset/datatable to get these values. If so, can you give me an example? -- Dave

Hi, I added a datagrid. When the user make changes to the cells, the datatable was updated with the new values. I need to update the dataset.datatable with the current datatable, but an error occurs, that the System.Dat.DataTableCollection.this cannot be assigned to - it is read only. How do I update the main dataset with the new database. Here is my current code

I am working a C# project that uses what's in the subject. I kind of have the basics down on reading the table data. I don't use the above methods of data access or persistence, but I am stuck with using this them in this project. I have selected rows based on selection criteria and the rows/records are held in an ArrayList, so I can work with those rows/records, as the user makes a selection to work with the data on the screen from a...

I am currently filling a dataTable then adding this table to a dataset, setting the dataset to the Gridview's datasource. If I set the Gridview to generate columns automatically it will fill the grid just fine, but I can't get the automated column (column index 1) to be set to readonly. (Column 0 is actually an automated column of edit buttons) here's my code: DataSet ds = new DataSet(); DataTable dt = new DataTable();...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
