I would like to open a new window to a url that I have set as the dropdownlist.se lectedvalue on the selected index change event. The selectedvalue is the url path and it will open in the existing window. I've tried window.open before the url, but that doesn't work.

protected void DropDownList_Se lectedIndexChan ged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Redire ct(this.ddl.Sel ectedValue);
}

I am displaying an ASP.Net generated form in a popup opened with window.showModalDialog. The form contains DropDownList controls. The first ddl is populated via databinding to a datatable, has its AutoPostBack set to true and has its SelectedIndexChanged event being handled in codebehind. The event fires as it should populating two more ddls. The problem is, the two ddls appear empty. I have used a javascript alert to look at the...

Hello and apologies in advance for the amount of code in this post. I've also sent this message to the Sharepoint group, but thought that ASP.NET developers may also be able to help, even though it's a Sharepoint WebPart. I'm trying to do something fairly simple, create a datagrid that displays where and when a person works and allows them to change some of the information via DropDownLists. When the user clicks to edit a row, three of...

This is my first post, so excuse me if I don't get this right the first time. I have an issue where when I use DropDownList I only get the first, or "SelectedValue" back when I update a GridView Edit. I have been trying to hunt down a viable soltion to this, seems that many people out there have similar issues and the ...SelectedItem.Value or SelectedValue is not returning what is actually being selected by the end user. So the simple question...

I have a DropDownList in an ASP.NET web form that is populated with items from a lookup table by binding that DropDownList to a SqlDataSource. However, the items in the lookup table can change over time. The problem is that when an item has been removed from the lookup table, and a user wants to retrieve a record that used the deleted item, the following error occurs: 'ddlAssignedTo' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it...

Hi, I have a detailsview with two fields: in editmode, one is a textbox and the other is a dropdownlist. i want to update both fields using the detailsview. My problem: when clicking on the edit button, the modified text in the textbox is effectively updated in the table, but instead of updating the chosen value of the dropdownlist, the field in the table becomes empty (old value is updated by nothing). The items of the dropdownlist...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
