c# MonthCalendar check if date falls in selection

5 New Member
I was wondering if there is an easy way to check if a date falls in a given selection range. I have the selection range already made and I want to be able to take a given date and see if it falls within that range.

Thank you,

Well I figured out a way to do it but if someone can find an easier way let me know. This is the method I created.

bool found = false;
DateTime test = monthCalendar1. SelectionStart;
for (int i = 0; i < counter; i++)
if (test.Date.Comp areTo(com.Date) == 0)
found = true;
test = test.AddDays(1) ;
return found;

When using a MonthCalendar.DateChanged eventhandler, is there a way a clean way to figure out if the date was changed by the user (as opposed to it being changed programmatically)? Thanks, Robert

When the year in the monthcalendar control is decremented the whole year is selected between the currently select date and the newly chosen date. However this highlighting behavior does not occur if the year is incremented. Is this by design? Is there anyway to override this behavior?

I want the MonthCalendar control to return the single day selected. I have MaxSelectionCount = 1. What I get back though is this: "SelectionRange: Start: 5/5/2005 12:00:00 AM, End: 5/5/2005 12:00:00 AM" How do I get the single day date?

I seem to have stumbled upon something that I can't explain and was wondering if someone else could maybe help me figure out why this happens. I've tried it in both VS2003 and with VS2005b2 and in both cases the result is the same: an ArgumentOutOfRangeException. Add the following to a blank WindowsForm in C# then call doStuff() from the constructor or a buttonClick event. If you click on any date, it pops up a messageBox (as it should)...

I seem to have run into another strange anomaly with the monthCalendar control. I want to display 6 months at time with either the first half of the year (January-June) or the later half of the year (July-Dec) being rendered- depending on where todays date falls. I also want today's date to be selected. This poses a problem. Refer to the code below. Add a call to createCalendar() to your constructor (AFTER the InitializeComponents()...

Hi all, Scenario: I have a MonthCalendar control, and DataGridView. Depending on dates displayed in MonthCalendar I want to update information from database. The Possible Solution: So I must use DateChanged and/or DateSelected events to get the new dates

I have a MonthCalendar on one of my forms. I have disovered that the DateChanged event is triggered not only when the user clicks on a new date, but also if they click on the Previous or Next Month arrows (meaning they click on either of the left or right pointing arrows in the top corner). If the user changes the month, it messes up some of the date logic that I have in the DateChanged event. Does anybody know how I can capture this...

Hi there, I have a WindowsForm which includes a label. I want to add a date to this label which a user can select. I thought it is probably the best to open another WindowsForm and to add on this one a monthcalendar. My prolbem is: How can I use this MonthcalendarForm to edit / add the date of the label on other forms.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
