C# - Retrieve emails from an Exchange server

1 New Member
Hello All,

I am creating an application using Message Queueing for the first time. I need to access an Email Box on an Exchange server and place those emails into the queue. I would like to do this using C# but I'm not sure where to begin. In all my research, I am finding how to send emails but not retrieve them. So my question is this: How can I retrieve emails from a mailbox using C#?

Can some one please point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance...

I have an exchange server, that I sometimes use to perform mail shots to clients on our database, these can be upwards of 1000 at a time. As we don't want different clients to see who we are working with we put these mailshots in the bcc field of the mails. This can sometimes cause a problem as we are getting alot of mails bounced back. I would like to write a script to have these emails sent out individually using the to: field of the...

Hi, What I need to do is be able to look at a certain folder on the mail exchange server and read/view the emails in it. I then need to be able to move the emails I've looked at to another folder on the same server. I'm trying to do this using VB.NET. Can anyone help in anyway? Are there any .net components that make this possible? Can I be running my application from another server machine or does it need to reside on

Hi there, I need to build a database that also handles emails. That is, the database is a customer list database and there is quite a lot of contact with the customers through email. We want all emails to and from the customers to be stored into the database. Is it quite easy to set it up that if an email is received at a certain email address, this is automatically inserted into the database? I assume it is also easy to set it up...

Hi, I am rewriting code from VB6 using MAPI into VB.NET I need to read an attachment off an email on an Exchange Server. In the old VB6 (not written by me) they restrict the Messages.type to "IPM.NOTE" on the Inbox and then retrieve any attachments. If I do the same in VB.NET, any email I receive that has an attachment is not picked up if I restrict for "IPM.NOTE". If I don't filter on IPM.NOTE, the email with attachment is...

I created an smtp app that I can loop through which uses smtp and our Exchange mail server. The smtp app works fine. I tested it on 10 test emails and called Client.Send 10 times. The emails went through (I emailed myself). My question is if anyone knows if Exchange server would be bogged...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
