XSLT-defined elements can have additional attributes - is this possible
with XSD, too?
Thanks and greetings

Yes, I think so, there are certain elements (e.g. appinfo) in a schema
that can have any user defined content and attributes in other
namespaces are allowed too.
I can't currently find the text saying that in the XML schema
specification but the schema for schemas
<http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/#normative-schemaSchemahas this type

<xs:complexTy pe name="openAttrs ">
<xs:annotatio n>
<xs:documentati on>
This type is extended by almost all schema types
to allow attributes from other namespaces to be
added to user schemas.
</xs:documentatio n>
<xs:complexCont ent>
<xs:restricti on base="xs:anyTyp e">
<xs:anyAttribut e namespace="##ot her" processContents ="lax"/>
</xs:complexConte nt>

hi, trying to convert some csv files into xsml and pulling a few hairs out :(. using the files below. a java program will parse the csv and take care of strange names and notes that line breaks in them. eventiually i want to generate the xslt from a xml file (all the files and java code are at http://tayek.com/~ray/spy1/). the java code (1.4) does the right thing (it just does the transformation). xmlspy seems really broken when i hit...

I would like to know if there is a tool for download or purchase that will generate a skeleton xslt document, inserting all the xsl:template's matching each element specified in any given xsd. Does anyone know of one? Thanks, KJ

I am doing a transform using an xml document and an xslt based on the xml document. What I want to do is create the xslt from the xsd so that it uses types rather than names. The problem i have is that neither the xsltransform object or an xmldocument object allow you to assign a schema so how will the transform know it is based on a schema rather than an instance. I am passing strings to both objects rather than files and neither can...

I need to create a PHP page that use an XSL file for transforming a generic XSD in their XHTML with inputbox,select etc.., for allow users to insert data in a user-friendly html-based editor, and on 'submit' the PHP page (server-side) can reconstruct the XML file and validate with the original XSD file, like this project: http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/xmldataeditor.asp I need to create also some javascript code or postback to php...

Hi. I'm looking for an easy way to generate, automatically, an XSLT from an XSD, to be applied to a XML file (conforming the previous XSD) and generate an HTML. Many of you will tell me that this is nonsense, but I think it can be done, given the condition that the XML file (as specified in the XSD) always has a root element (although it would be nice if the root element name could be a parameter of the XSLT), and a given hierarchy of...

Hi my objective to send the xml from client to third party application where my appln is the interface. Both formats of XML are different. So my interface will convert the incomming XML to third party format. So while receiving the XML from client , i had the XSD with me so that the xml send by the client is validated. once it is correct. I have to create a xml accepted by third party appln . I had a XSD of third pary appln so i created a XSLT...

I am trying to run an XSLT on a schema (XSD) file. The schema file has a "xsd:include" tag that includes another XSD file. When I load the schema in XML editors like XML Spy the data from all of the files is loaded. When I run the XSL translation only the XSD data from the first file is loaded and translated. The data from the file referenced in the included tag is skipped. Anyone have any ideas why? Example XSD file <?xml...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
