Windows service giving error.

Hi all

i have developed one windows service in c#.net.

But when i try to open properties windows of that service throuch
service control manager, i am getting following error

' Configuration Manager: A general internal error occured. '

can some one tell me why this is happening.

And to remove windows service completely from system which entries of
registry i need to delete.

While debugging i observed that it is related to service name, if i
change name of service and try to instll the service then every thing
will work fine.

But as soon as i try to give one particular name to service it is givng

Can someone tell me why this is happening.

Any help will be truely appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Hi All, I've developed a Windows Service that acts as a remoting server (.NET Remoting). The client(user) is able to connect to the server and start a program by giving the executable path of the program (in the server) along with the working directory and the arguments (parameters). This works fine if I try to start programs whose executable file is present witin the local drives of the server. If the application is in a netwok drive,...

Suppose you have one domain, filled with a couple of users. What needs to be done now is I need to start a windows application from a webform by pressing a button on the webform (for example). The problem is that the user who "owns" the service is always the ASPNET account. That's not good since you don't see the actual application (because it's owned by ASPNET). I've tried changed the processmodel section in the machine.config file to...

Argh! This problem is driving me nuts! Can you help? In November of 2003, I installed a web service on Windows Server 2003 built in VB.NET for v1.1.4322 of the framework. It contains a timer (System.Timers.Timer) which has an interval of 24 hours. Actually, it reads a time like 2AM out of the config file, and calculates the time between the start of the service to 2AM, and sets the timer. When the timer expires, it re-reads the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
