Visual Studio Builds - VBC - TypeLoad Exception

Hello,

I've been getting a TypeLoadExcepti on after doing a VBC command line
build. I've included all of the /r - references and /i - imports for
the assembly. The exception is thrown at runtime from and ASP.Net
application when accessing a business object. The Business Object is
inherited from a custom base class references in a different assembly
than the Business Object. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it can't
load the base object from its' assembly?

Is it a bad practice to install Visual Studio on a build box and use
DevEnv to build the solution, instead of using VBC?

If I build from Visual Studio, there are no problems with the
application.

Thanks,

I am using devenv to build a solution. The Solution comprises 2 projects :- one C++ and the other a Fortran project. I created this solution by automatically converting a Visual Studio version 6 project. When I build the solution in a Visual Studio .NET workspace, it builds successfully with no errors in either project.

Created a simple Win32 application (using Visual Studio wizard)... Am using Visual Studio (Enterprise Edition) 6.0, as well as Service Pack 5. At the start of 'WinMain' function, added the following two lines: char* ptr = NULL; *ptr = 'b'; Built the crashTestApp.exe in both Release and Debug configurations.

Dear all, I work on a major system written in C# in visual studio 2003. Our solution has 10+ projects and all projects are compiled with /incremental. In a C++ world, non-incremental builds aren't used for development...it would simply take too long to compile an update. So we would naturally expect that incremental

Shortly, the Visual C++ Tools Refresh will be available on the MSDN Visual C++ devcenter. You will need to have installed the Visual Studio 2005 Beta first. <http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc> I have been talking about this a lot over the last two months. All of the features that are missing in the compiler for Beta 1 are now available in the tools refresh. These refreshes are builds out of live development branch and thus are not...

When I open forms in my project which contain a typed-dataset dropped onto the form (in the component tray), the dataset will often disappear from the component tray and be removed from the designer-generated code. I am also having problems adding newly-created datasets to a form. This results in: "Could not add an instance of to the designer. To resolve this problem, build the project, fix any errors, and add the

I need to reference a file on my published server as "../mydir/myfile.txt", which is fine and it works. On my local develop computer the "../mydir" refers to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7 Is there any way I can get the "../" to refer to somewhere more convenient, ideally as /mydir within my project. I could not find any settings in Visual Studio, which referred to this

It seems the option '/useenv' is no longer supported in in Microsoft Visual .NET 2005. If I run 'devenv /?' I get the following: ------------------------ Microsoft (R) Visual Studio Version 8.0.50727.42. Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-2005. All rights reserved. Use: devenv

We have a web application in 2003. The solution contains the project for the web application and five other projects for shared assemblies. We have two issues. The first is that we want to place the entire solution in some other directory like c:\work rather than wwwroot. We can use vss to do a get latest version, but as soon as we open the solution from within visual studio, vs copies the main web application source files to a new...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
