Encoding problem

Hi all,

I'm using the XmlDocument class to create an XML document. I found out that
in .NET there are special classes that they do that job a lot faster,
namelly XmlTextWritter. My problem is that using the XmlTextWritter the
encoding gets messed up.

How do I set the XmlTextWritter' s ecncoding to be the same as the one that
the XmlDocument is using?
I've tried this but doesn't work.

System.IO.Memor yStream s = new System.IO.Memor yStream();

XmlTextWriter LWriter = new XmlTextWriter(s , Encoding.Unicod e);
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Your problem is not specific enough to provide you with any help. Are you
writing the XML to a MemoryStream and then loading the XmlDocument or
something else?

Hi Dare,

Here is the full picture. I use a component written in C# that builds HTML
pages dynamically and then sends the contents together with some headers
bandled up in a XML document (text only) to an ISAPI via COM. When it
reaches the ISAPI I set the headers and contents of the Response object form
the XML document and send it to the browser.

That XML document is the one that gives me trouble. When I use the
XmlDocument class to create it it works fine. But, when I use the
XmlTextWriter pages in the browser appear to contain some weird caracters.

Thanks,
Greg.

Python's InteractiveInterpreter uses the built-in compile function. According to the ref. manual, it doesn't seem to concern about the encoding of the source string. When I hand in an unicode object, it is encoded in utf-8 automatically. It can be a problem when I'm building an interactive environment using "compile", with a different...

Hi... I've been doing a lot of work both creating and consuming web services, and I notice there seems to be a discontinuity between a number of the different cogs in the wheel centering around windows-1252 and that it is not equivalent to iso-8859-1. Looking in the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Charset and \Codepage, it...

Hi All, I'm newbie to this XML world. My problem is to identify the encoding type of XML at runtime. What currently I'm doing is checking whether BOM is available in the XML; based on the BOM I'm identifying the encoding type.
