I have developed a Windows Forms application with C#. On the windows form I have a master list box with the names of people the user can select from and when selected it calls a Select in SQL server to gather the appropriate information. It is then populated onto a multi-tab portion on the right of the screen. On the 3rd tab I have 2 multi-select listboxes. The problem is on the first time I go to the tab for the first name the 2...

Hi, I can't seem to figure out how to dynamically add new items with different font colors to a listbox. I have followed the ColorListBox example at http://www.codeproject.com/cs/combobox/colorlistbox.asp which i found very informative. But in the example all the items that should be added to the listbox is known when the form is loaded. What I want to do is add lines (items) to the listbox dynamically trough the application - for...

I have a listbox of values that I populate from a database. I want the user to be able to re-order the list (by first selecting an item and then clicking 'up' or 'down' buttons) and then save the list back to the database. First of all, I implemented the re-ordering through client-side javascript, which worked great (also it didn't require a postback every time an item was re-ordered). For testing purposes, I'm outputting the contents...

I've spent plenty of time building windows forms, but I'm working on a web project now. I've scanned a few ASP NET books, checked out some tutorials, but I am unable to figure out how to lay out complex groups of controls that need to interact with each other on a web page properly. My main page's design includes a number of different controls. On the left I have three groups of controls: A textbox with a button for searching (the...

I'm working with an SDK from a commercial software vendor and am using a sample Windows Application written in C# to learn the SDK (they do not have an ASP.Net example). I need to create an ASP.Net Web Application and have noticed that I'm having to ToString the object references. For example, the following works in the samle code: // Get the list from the server

Hi, Looking for some advice again... Imagine two ListBox controls denoting something like students and team membership e.g. many students can be members of many teams (e.g. the hockey team, the football team, the athletics team etc). Team membership is managed on a standard web page with two ListBox controls - the one on the left shows which team(s) the student is not a

Hi all, Currently I am doing a project in ASP.NET using C#. I posted this message before but that was a different approach. Now I want to implement it this way. I have a Database in SQL Server containing 5 tables. I have 5 Listbox Controls which I have populated from the 5 underlying tables. What I want to do is to bind the 5 Listbox Controls to the Repeater Control to display information. I can bind one ListBox to the Repeater Control....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
