Try the following, if not yet tried:
1. run devenv /safemode from command prompt
check to see if tab key works then

Hello all! I have been working on a project for some time now and yesterday, my debugger stopped working. It is a class library which I run from a Win32 test app, so no IIS involved at this point. I can still set breakpoints and when debugging the breakpoints get hit - just like it would work normally.

Hi, I added dotnetfx.exe to a setup project as a custom action to be installed before the main app is installed. I set the Arguments property to /q:a /c:"install /l /q" for a silent install but it complains that its already installed, then I set the Condition to check as Installed == false and that doesnt work. How can one do this on a setup project?

I'm having problems with intellisense, autocomplete, etc. suddenly not working in certain classes of a project I'm working on. All the options are set, and it all works fine for most classes, but for some it just suddenly stopped working. After a build it'll work maybe once or twice, then stop. I've tried repairing my installation of Visual Studio 2003 but that didn't help. Is Microsoft working on a fix for this, or is there something...

When I try to run the Website Administration Tool from my published application using http://localhost/myapp/webadmin.axd I am getting a "resource not found" error message. I can use the Admin tool from the IDE however. I noticed some people referring to a directory called c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_webadmin\, which i do not have on my system.

Sorry for OT question, but does any one have a working *.bat file to get Comeau to work with VC++ 7.1, VC++ 8.0, or GNU 3.x compilers. I've tried everything I can think off, to get it to work, and I get compile errors. I'm currently using the following *.bat file http://axter.com/complr.bat With the following simple hello world source code: http://axter.com/helloworld.cpp

I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to configure IIS 5.1 on XP Pro to work when referencing WebResources.axd. For example, I have an aspx script that works fine when run from Visual Web Developer 2005 (Express Edition) built-in web server, but fails when run under IIS (same file, same location). I think I've tracked the problem to a failure of IIS to find WebResources.axd. For example, if I point IE to the src centerated by the...

As part of the project I am working on, I received a .XSD file defining the data layout for data that I will receive. When I open this file in Visual Studio, I get a nice pretty picture of how the data tables relate to one another. When a user that does not have Visual Studio opens this file, they see the raw XML (which is not very useful to them). I would like to export the representation that is displayed by Visual Studio into some...

My experiences with BOOST on Windows XP and Visual C++ 2005 I'm new to Python. I built software in more than ten other computer languages. I'm not sure if that is not a handicap, when reading documentation of a system like BOOST. However: It took me more than four full working days to get a Python/C/C++ 'hello world!' program to work. There is a lot of documentation, but somehow it did not 'click' with my previous experience. I think...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
