Visual Studio and design mode

In design mode I have error on my control because I read an XML file on
the Load method.
Is there a way to prevent Visual Studio to execute code in design mode ?

Thanks for your help.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
