XP Burn - Corrupted Files

Hello Fellow Coders,

I am trying to use the free XPBurn assembly from the Microsoft website.

After ironing a few bugs out, I finally got it write to a CD. However, all
the files appear to be corrupt. The executables that were burned are not
valid Win32 applications, the text files appear like binary data has been
written to them.

I have noticed in the posts that a few of you have managed to get it to
work. Did you come across this problem? If so, how do you fix it?

Hello, I am posting this rather lengthy description here in hope of getting at least some insight into a problem that is really hurting my business, since I have come to the conclusion that my problem is at least partly PHP-related. Some time now I have been having transfer problems, i.e. my customers downloads of large binary (ZIP) files are often corrupt.

Hi Again, I have Macs, Windows and Linux PCs. I'd like to have a generic HDD burn in program to test new drives on all platforms. I know Python is portable enough to handle the platform differences, but would it be a good language for this type of application? The process would involve lots of reads and writes all over the drives for an extended period of time (several hours). Anybody else done something similar to this? Any suggestions?

I need to be able to burn a CD from VB.NET. The OS is XP so I don't care how it does it, but not having to go through the wizard of course--and free. I have searched and found XPBurn, but couldn't see a way to place a volume label on the CD. Here's exactly what I want to do: 1.) Run a program that generates a GUID product ID for the CD (I have this part)

I am creating a project involving video files and I need to be able to offer the user the ability to burn the result to DVD. I don't need any fancy titles, transitions or anything. I know there are nice tools such as Nero, but it would be nice to keep it all within my application. Does anyone know how to do this? Are there any ActiveX components to help? Thanks -Jerry

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
