merging of two mysql databases having two different ports

P: 2
HI,
I want to merge TESTLINK and BUGZILLA databases into one, even though they have mysql DB but i have installed in different ports(TESTLINK-3306 and BUGZILLA-3307). so with respect to TEST CASE-ID in test link which are failed or blocked or whatever it should raise a defect in the bugzilla automatically. I am unable to understand which tables i need to go for joining or whats suppose to be done.

So iam using JAVA in order to write the code. The merging of DB's should should be done.Kindly help me out with the proper solution.

Kindly provide the code as well.

I have gone though all installation pdf's and many more sites that could merge two mysql DB's, so its not helping me out in any ways.

sandeep,

I don't know how to help you with the database merge, and I'm not certain if it is the correct approach. Directly manipulating the tables can easily violate the application logic of either TESTLINK or BUGZILLA. You really should use appropriate APIs, instead.

There is a Bugzilla REST API that you could use to insert records from Java. This is the first result of a Google search for "bugzilla api", and it looks to be reasonable.

There is also a Google tool j2bugzilla that you might want to consider. It's set up as a Maven repository.

Researching TESTLINK's API is left to you.

I know that REST APIs are a nusiance to work with, but once you get started, it's not hard to write a Java API specific to your needs.

As for us providing code - please don't ask us to do your job. We will gladly help you where you have difficulty, but you have to provide us something to help you with.

Kind Regards,
