Can't start the mysql server

P: 1

I have a huge problem and I need help.
I have the data folder from the server I had on one computer (containing the schema folders and the ibdata1 file). Now I need the install the mysql server on another computer, and transfer the data - but every time I try, when I move the data folder, it can't start the server. I must have the data, and can't get it any other way.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to do something else then copy the data foldet to "C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.6"?

Please help me

Try changing the datadir option in your mysql configuration file to point to the location of the old datafiles. Make sure mysql is stopped when you do this.
