Error: access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database

hii..
i am also getting the same error of access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'emp'.

tried each and everything command which you posted above but still it ain't working..

when i try to use this command:
mysql -uroot -p
it asks for password and as i remember i didn't gave any password at the time of installation.
