is it possible to do this with one query???

110 100+
Hey MySQL gurus,

I've got a bit of a strange query I'm trying to run, and am hoping I can do it with one query rather than 5.

I have a site www.HearWhere.com which is a concert listings site.
I want to be able to show a user the top 5 concerts playing for them on each night of the week.

So i have my query like
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. SELECT band, venue, genre FROM bands WHERE date BETWEEN '2008-11-15' AND '2008-11-20' ORDER BY popularity LIMIT 0,5;
  2.
However, this will give me the top 5 playing between the selected dates.
I'm trying to get the top 5 for EACH of the days.
I am concerned about having to run 5 seperate queries rather than 1 query...

Is there a way to do this? Or should I just loop through the query once for each day?

Thanks
Pete
