How to process form and insert data into db

Using xampp, ie Mysql ,

the simple question is this, i have a html form spread out of 4 different pages ,
and i am inserting data into my database .
What are the steps required to do this? ie
What i need to know is this ie ,how to move the data from the form to the database

do i have to represent the form in mysql also ,
just need the steps, not to be too specific,

Basically you have a form (e.g. POST method) with data and a submit button.

When the form is submitted the data is passed to 'action' script that retrieves the data from the $_POST array.

After validating the data, construct the INSERT mysql command and issue that command.
