trying to install mysql on redhat

I get the following error screen when I try to install mysql on
redhat:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[root@localhost mysql4]# rpm -i MySQL-server-4.1.4-0.i386.rpm
warning: MySQL-server-4.1.4-0.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key
ID 5072e1f5

got 126976
040920 17:56:09 [ERROR] Warning: Asked for 196608 thread stack, but

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h localhost.localdomain password
'new-password'
See the manual for more instructions.

NOTE: If you are upgrading from a MySQL <= 3.22.10 you should run
the /usr/bin/mysql_fix_privilege_tables. Otherwise you will not be
able to use the new GRANT command!

Please report any problems with the /usr/bin/mysqlbug script!

When I try calling >mysqld this is what I get:

[root@localhost mysql4]# mysqld
040920 18:03:25 [ERROR] Warning: Asked for 196608 thread stack, but
got 126976
040920 18:03:25 [ERROR] Can't start server: Bind on TCP/IP port:
Address already in use
040920 18:03:25 [ERROR] Do you already have another mysqld server
running on port: 3306 ?
040920 18:03:25 [ERROR] Aborting

040920 18:03:25 [ERROR] mysqld: Shutdown complete

What is going on and what can I do to remedy it?

Please help...
