Warning: Asked for 196608 thread stack, but got 126976

I upgrade MySql from 2.23.56 to 4.0.21 (running on RedHat 9). MySQL
server working fine but following warning appears whenever server
starts.

"040917 6:07:19 Warning: Asked for 196608 thread stack, but got
126976"

I check system variables using:

mysql> show variables;

Which shows; thread_stack = 126976. I tried to update this variable
through set command (mysql shell) but it won't work, then I tried to
set this variable in my.cnf but problem still not solved.

Any idea what is the exact problem and how to solve it?
