Barcodes are just a string of numbers and/or text. Most barcode readers
plug in between the computer and keyboard so when you scan the info it just
converts the barcoding to the text it represents and enters it as if you
had from the keyboard. Case in point are UPC labels, the code on the
bottom of them is what the barcode represents.
To enter in barcopdes all you need is a text field and when the computer is
at it, you scan the code.
