dumping specific inserts

Hi,

I need to do a mysqldump of specific inserts, updates & deletes. I
read in the docs that I can use -w or --where.

Can I do a join?

Could someone provide an example?

Is there another way?

Thanks,

Kerri

You can use phpmyadmin, and do any kind of query. Then in the window
showing the query result, there is an export option. You can use that
to output the result of query (even join query, or having where
clause) to diff. formats.

Hey Steve,

I would normally follow that route, but this is for a work project and
we're purely a perl house right now.

But I'm assuming that phpmyadmin. probably takes the query and puts it
into a mysqldump -w.

Will play around some more and repost.

Thanks,

Kerri

Today I learned that you can't do a join in the where_clause of
mysqldump. Would be really helpful if you could.

An easy solution was to output my queries (modified with insert
statements) to a log file.
