Upgrade Issues

Hi

I've just upgraded my installation for 3.29 to
mysql Ver 14.3 Distrib 5.0.0-alpha, for portbld-freebsd4.5 (i386)
( via the mysql --version cmd)
The problem that I'm now getting is that some of my cgi scripts
have become broken (they were working just fine). I am wondering
if the version I got is "too new" or that there are sutle differences.
I'm am going to look at whats new (for the specific version), to see
what is wrong, but has anybody came across the same problem ?

Many Thanks
David

http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/index.html

# MySQL 4.0 -- Production release (recommended)
# MySQL 4.1 -- Alpha release (use this for new development)
# MySQL 5.0 -- Development tree (use this for previewing and testing new features)

Try 4.0 instead.
