Open Source Business Object Server

I have been developing with a business object server called eMatrix
for the last three years and i've been amazed how quick I can build an
application that would take me 3 times the effort if I had to worry
about RDBMS application framework efforts.

Does anybody know of an Open Source project for a Business Object
Servers that can sit above mySQL or a berkley DB? The scope for
building a core framework is huge but the potential customers (most
fortune 500 companies) are currently dumping billions of dollars
paying for Enterprise applications.

For those who want to know: BOS's are generally designed using STEP.
The core is built on instances of objects that have attributes that
use relationships and policies (governing lifecycle and access). They
should have groups, roles. They usually include a SQ layer specific to
the application for printing and expanding object information. Also,
trigger frameworks (hooks), should be there for business logic.

I appreciate your time and knowledge.

Hi,

Yes, there is currently an open source project going on on PLM/PDM
such as ematrix or windchill.
You should contact Richard at his email(vi********@yahoo.com) if you
want to have more info. and to be involved in the project.

Good luck!
